Anari Capital

On behalf of selected investment management clients who specialize in alternative assets, Anari raises capital from institutional investors worldwide with whom Bill Anawaty maintains regular contact in several contexts.
Managers include those actively managing investments in private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and other alternative assets.

Notable successes include:

Private credit / U.S. market: For New York-based MGG Investment Group, a mid-market corporate lender, in cooperation with Stuart Portfolio Consultants, LLC of New York, secured a $1.35 Billion mandate from a major Japanese financial institution ($450 Million each year for three years with possible continuation).

Infrastructure: For Canadian pension fund OMERS and its wholly-owned subsidiary Borealis, raised $5 Billion of matching capital from six Japanese investors, creating a $10 Billion capital pool for global infrastructure investment – the largest in the world at that time.

Financial Innovation Investments: From 4 Japanese insurance companies, raised $30 million for venture capital investments by Conning & Company into new insurance concepts and start-ups in the US.

Real Estate: Arranged the sale of 50% of three large office towers in Atlanta whose US owners continued managing until the Asian buyers later bought the remaining 50%.

Asian interest currently extends to many more US cities – in addition to gateway cities – and a wider range of properties including multi-family, residential build-to-rent, distribution centers, data centers, corporate-owned properties, and more.
